It is that time of year to reflect on what we are grateful for. The meaning of grateful is ‘showing appreciation for a kindness’. Basically, being thankful. Kindness is certainly a character trait of Tyler. In the book, “Tyler goes to the Olympics?” you see how much Tyler cares for his relatives, friends, and his wise and loving mother. You can feel his kindness and how thankful he is to have such wonderful critter friends that surround him.

As the author, I now reflect on the many people in my life who I am grateful for, especially those who have supported me in my newest endeavor of creating a children’s book for my first grandson. Thanks to all for your unconditional support. Of course, I have to give a shout-out to those who purchased a Tyler book. Thank you! You have made this experience fun and worthwhile.

Lastly, I need to tell you a little story about a very thoughtful gift given to me from a ‘think-out-of-the-box’ friend. My friend posted a request on a local website asking if a teacher would allow me to come into their classroom to read my book to their students. It worked! An adventurous teacher took up the challenge and gave me the opportunity to share the book and introduce Tyler to her students. When the day came for me to read, the teacher was prepared and had pictures and descriptions of the actual types of turtles written about in the book. What a perfect day and perfect gift. Thank you to my friend, the teacher, and her students who listened attentively and respectfully to me. I am truly touched.

Lastly, I am ever so grateful for my family and my heart bursts with gratitude for my grandson. Little Nolan was able to sit in the class and hear me read to other kids. So proud of him and his first experience in a classroom setting. Soon, young Nolan, you will be in a real classroom yourself.

Now I am off to prepare a Thanksgiving feast and gather together with those I love and am so very, very grateful for.

Tyler looks forward to the publishing of his next adventure, “Tyler plays fair?” Coming Q1 in 2020.

We hope you all have a Tyleriffic Thanksgiving with friends and loved ones.

The Adventures of Tyler the Turtle is the first book written by Tommy Arthur. Started as a family project for the pending birth of his first grandchild, the joy of writing Tyler led to publishing the book. Tyler plans to have many more adventures and loves to travel so Tommy will be busy bringing these adventures to future books.
